Eeach year the BMI brings outstanding Brazilian musicians to Gainesville for an intensive week of instruction. BMI provides unique opportunities for singers, guitarists, percussionists, drummers, flutists, saxophonists and other instrumentalists to study with five exceptional musicians: Jorge Continentino (flute, saxophone, pífano), Ulisses Rocha (acoustic and electric guitars), Alexander Crook (drum set) and UF Professors Larry Crook (percussion) & Welson Tremura (voice/guitar).
The weeklong institute ends with a closing concert on Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Squitieri Studio Theatre, located off the main lobby of the Phillips Center in Gainesville, Florida. Tickets for the closing concert, which features guest artists and selected BMI participants, are $17.
Please recommend Brazilian Music
I am from Texas, I have had the opportunity to travel to Sao Paulo on business some times. I love the music, But I do not know any of the artists! Except one, Cesaria Evoria. I love the music she sings.
If anyone out there, can recommend any similar music, for me? I would appreciate it.
